Dog Training Service Policies

Registration and terms

• New training clients must book a discovery call with our office to schedule a dog training consultation.

• Client and trainer must complete an initial dog training consultation prior to training sessions.

• Day training sessions are available only to clients that have completed or are actively scheduled for dog training sessions.

• Invoices are sent through our client software and are due net 7 from invoice date.

• If you are a regular dog walking client, training services will be added to your existing monthly invoice.

• Training services are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.
   

Cancellations and no-shows

• You may reschedule any session when providing 24+ hours' advanced notice.

• You will be charged in full for training services canceled with less than 24 hours' notice. No credits or refunds will be granted for no shows or cancelations occurring with less than 24 hours’ notice.
   

General information

• Service area for dog training includes Long Beach and Signal Hill. 

• Dog training sessions meet for 50 minutes to 1 hour and clients must be present and participate in these sessions. 

• Day training sessions are 40 to 45 minutes and are one-on-one sessions with the dog and the trainer.

• Dogs must be current on all age-appropriate vaccinations.

• All dogs should go potty prior to their session.

• Have a variety of high-value treats your dog loves available for each session.

• If the dog is reactive toward people, the dog must be leashed while the trainer is present, unless otherwise instructed. The dog must be on leash or safely confined prior to the trainer entering the home. 

• We do not permit prong, choke, electronic collars or retractable leashes. 

• We do not use aversive conditioning methods.

• For complex behaviors like aggression or severe separation anxiety, we are happy to provide you with a referral to a certified specialist with expertise in these behaviors.
