Hundreds of pets wait for their forever homes in animal shelters daily. The mission statement of Long Beach Animal Care Services is:
“Serve, protect and shelter homeless companion animals. Place animals into humane environments. Promote responsible pet ownership and reduce animal overpopulation. Celebrate the human-animal bond.”
After reading the Long Beach Animal Care Services mission statement, Pet Waggin' wanted to help keep these animals warm and clean this summer by collecting blankets, towels, and dog clothing!

We started by picking four drop off locations around Long Beach. Primary Animal Care, Bixby Animal Clinic, Belmont Shore Vet Hospital and Olives.
After establishing our drop off locations, we let all of our clients know and encouraged the community to help us. For two weeks our drop of locations placed boxes in their lobbies and store fronts. The Pet Waggin' team also spent the last two weeks collecting donations from houses as well.

After two weeks of community outreach and client outreach we were able to collect over 250 towels, over 100 blankets, collars, harnesses, leashes, dog clothing and medications. We also received dog and cat beds, dog crates and monetary donations. The help and enthusiasm of our community, clients and participating drop off locations lead to huge success.
We can't thank everyone enough!
